Mr. Eduardo Alejandro Cardenas is currently a sophomore at East College Prep which is in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles. While enrolled at East College Prep., Mr. Cardenas took it upon himself to enroll in an ELAC course through the Outreach Office. Mr. Cardenas completed General Engineering 101 (GE 101) during the fall 2019 semester and received an A for his academic accomplishments. During his time in GE 101, Mr. Cardenas demonstrated an amazing ability to perform well during public speaking events. Mr. Cardenas showed great confidence, poise, and most importantly, a joy to be in front of an audience. Furthermore, while attending East College Prep, Mr. Cardenas was captain of the E-Sports club where both Mr. Cardenas and his peers competed with other schools in gaming events. Mr. Cardenas was also a student ambassador for his school where he participated in outreach events. Currently, Mr. Cardenas is enrolled in Pre-Calculus. He has a strong passion for the STEM field, and that is why his goals are to graduate from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Finally, Mr. Cardenas has spent endless hours during the weekend assisting his father with his Mariachi band. His father has been playing and performing Mariachi music for over 20 years. Mr. Cardenas plays the violin and sings for his father's Mariachi Band. Mr. Cardenas parents are from Guadalajara, Mexico, a state he has visited several times. When asked what top three skill sets students should work on if they are planning to juggle both a college and high school courses, Mr. Cardenas stated 1. time management, 2. passion, and 3. valuing their family support.
