The Engineering Club students hosting E week during National Engineers week 2020. Our guest speaker Juan Pablo Vargas (Dodger's Hat), Cal State Long Beach Alumni in Civil Engineering and past engineering club president for the civil engineering club at ELAC, stopped by to inform students on his LESSONS LEARNED while attending CSULB and while working as a student intern for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. Blessed to be able to host this great event. Dr. Emily Allen (Dean from CSULA) was scheduled to come in but we had a mis Q with the schedule. But we had a wonderful back up plan as well.

I completed the NCAS program this past Thursday. It was one of the most amazing engineering workshops I have experienced! I got to meet amazing engineers in the field and really smart STEM students. I have learned how important it is to be an excellent communicator as an engineer. Working with an engineering team is very fun and rewarding. The main project of the workshop was to prepare, design, build, and program a lego rover to perform tasks autonomously in a constructed map. I got to experience a taste of what it is to be a part of a Mars rover project like the Mars Science Laboratory. It has helped me realize that I am working towards something I want and I will enjoy becoming an engineer.
