The League of California Surveying Organizations (LCSO) is comprised of County and City Surveyors, Caltrans, representatives from special districts, and private consultants whose primary focus is providing surveying services to the Government sector. Our goal is to disseminate information for the purpose of standardizing surveying throughout California. Since 1997 the Southern California Chapter of APWA has conducted a Scholarship Program benefitting students who live in or attend school in our region. Since its inception, our Chapter has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships, allowing high school seniors and undergraduate college students who maintain a passion for community involvement and volunteerism, to continue to achieve their educational and career goals.


GMiS Scholarship Portal Open!

We invite you to apply for the GMiS merit-based scholarships, which range from $500 - $10,000. These scholarships are offered through the generous contributions from leading Fortune 500 companies, national government agencies, and private donors. Applicants must demonstrate merit through academic achievement, leadership, service and campus/community engagement.

Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary registration, lodging and travel to the 2020 GMiS Conference, which will be held from October 7 - 10, 2020, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, in Lake Buena Vista, FL. At the Conference, awardees will receive their GMiS Scholars medallion during the Honorees and Scholars Welcome Reception.


Hispanic descent and/or demonstrate significant leadership or service within the underserved community;

Graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students or graduate students;

Pursuing or intending to pursue a science, technology, engineering, math or health-related field of study at an accredited 2-yr or 4-yr college/university in the U.S. or its territories; and

Possessing an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
