Monterey Park, CA – East Los Angeles College (ELAC) will be holding Emergency Preparedness Week starting October 14. There will be a variety of different trainings for faculty, staff and students. These trainings are being organized by ELAC Professional Development and special thanks is also given to the Emergency Planning Committee, Administrative Services, Student Health Center, Professional Development, and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Participants in the training will have a chance to win raffle prizes that include emergency kits and more! The more sessions you attend, the more chances you have of winning. Winners must be present to win.

Monday, October 14
Emergency First Aid, 9 – 11am
Call for Heroes: Marshall Training, 12 – 2pm
Tuesday, October 15
Active Shooter Training, 9 – 10:30am
School Threat Assessment: Early Intervention and Prevention in Cases of Potential Mass Violence, 12 – 2pm (This training is for faculty and staff only)
Wednesday, October 16
Disaster Self-Preparedness, 9 – 10:30am
Personal Defense Training, 12 – 1:30pm
Thursday, October 17
The Great Shake Out, 10 – 10:30am
Survival Trivia, 12 – 2pm
