In order to obtain an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree you must complete 60 units or more of degree applicable units which include general education and major requirements.
Some occupational programs provide for a Certificate of Achievement (12 units or more). The term Certificate of Completion is reserved for something different, and some of the Achivements are only 12 units. Please see appropriate occupational program section in the East Los Angeles College General Catalog for certificate course requirements.
