## Pre Transfer Level Mathematics Self-Placement

M101 The World of Numbers:  Take this course if you have trouble adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers i.e.  23 x 456 = ?.

M103 How to Succeed at Math:  Take this course if you have math anxiety, have trouble with poor study habits, or have trouble succeeding in math courses.

M105 College Arithmetic:  Take this course if you are weak in fractions ½ + ½ , decimals 0.2 + 1.3, percents 5% of 25 is ?, and/or simple word problems, D = RT.

M107 How to Do Word Problems:  Take this course if you are weak in solving simple word problems i.e. A 20% discount on a 35 dollar dress is ?.

M110 Introduction to Algebraic Concepts:  Take this course, if you are weak in signed numbers i.e. – 5 – (- 3), solving first degree equations i.e. 2 x + 1 = 5, and basic graphing techniques.

M113 Elementary Algebra A:  Take this course if you are weak in basic algebra and need to learn basic algebra at a slower pace.  This is a 3 unit course and covers the first half of the material of M115.

M114 Elementary Algebra B:  Take this course as a continuation of M113.  This course is also 3 units covers the second half of the material covered in M115.

M115 Elementary Algebra:  Take this course if you have some background in elementary algebra, but may have forgotten most of the topics because you have been out of high school for a number of years, or because you did poorly with elementary algebra in high school.

M120 Plane Geometry:  Take this course if you never took high school geometry and want to be a STEM major.

M125 Intermediate Algebra:  Take this course if you took Algebra 2 or Integrated Math II in high school and passed with a C or better.  You can also take this course if you feel that you have a strong background in elementary algebra.

M125S Intermediate Algebra with Support:  Take this course if you took Algebra 2 or Integrated Math II in high school and passed with a D or even a C and you feel that you need a little more help in passing M125.  This course if equivalent to M125, but has a couple of extra hours of review per week.

M134 Accelerated Elementary and Intermediate Algebra:  4 hours lecture, 4 hours lab per week.  Take this course if you want to complete M115 and M125 in one semester.
