Professor Hasty joined the faculty at ELAC in 1979. She had been a voice instructor at U.C. Irvine and the University of Southern California. Ms. Hasty also directed junior high choral music in Fullerton and high school choral music in El Monte. She was honored by having both her junior high and high school choirs perform at the state conventions of the California Music Educators Association. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a concentration in voice at Southern Methodist University and a Master's degree in voice at the University of Southern California. She has appeared as soloist in a number of LA-area churches as well as the Carmel Bach Festival and the Los Angeles Bach Festival. She also held the position of Music Director in a number of churches. As music department chair at ELAC, Professor Hasty helped in the planning and design for our new music facilities. Since retiring, Ms. Hasty continues to teach class voice. Currently, she is an Adjunct faculty member.
