District Math 115 Competency Exam:
Math 115 Competency

The Los Angeles Community College District Math 115 Competency Exam may only be taken once within the entire Los Angeles Community College District. It is designed to meet the Math 115 graduation requirement for the Associates Degree for those students entering the college prior to Fall 2009. The Math Competency Exam may not be used to fulfill math prerequisites and students will not receive units for it. It is solely used for internal graduation purposes.

The Math 115 Competency Exam is composed of a 30-question Algebra multiple-choice examination. In order to pass, students must score a 15 or better. Calculators are not allowed for this exam.

  • Math 115 Competency Sample Test Question (pdf)

New/Returning Students entering Fall 2009 or later must adhere to the Administrative Regulation E-79 for updated Math Competency Requirements.

Prior to participating in the Math 115 Competency Exam, please review the ELAC graduation information and meet with a counselor to inquire if you are eligible to participate in the District Math 115 Competency Exam.
