Matriculation Process:

Step 1: Admissions
  • Complete and return the ELAC admission application to the Enrollment Center (Main Campus, Bldg E1 - Room 183), Admissions (South Gate Educational Center), or online.
  • Submit proof of residency (if applicable).
  • Submit official high school transcripts and any previous college official transcripts.
  • Assessment Check-In Form is made available upon submitting the ELAC admission application above and/or online.
  • Review Assessment Check-In Form for assessment placement process, sample test questions links, and assessment lab hours.

Step 2: Assessment/Orientation
  • Participate in the Assessment Placement Process: Computerized English and Math Assessments are offered on a first-come, first serve basis during lab hours.
  • Receive assessment placement results that provide recommendations into English, Reading, ESL English, and Math courses.
  • Receive a current Schedule of Classes, General Catalog, and other essential material(s) when available. (Please bring to Orientation and Counseling Q & A Sessions explained below.)

Step 3: Counseling/Advisement
  • Participate in an Orientation and Counseling Q & A Session. (See Counseling Department for more information.)
  • Schedule an appointment with an ELAC Counselor and complete a Student Educational Plan (S.E.P.).
  • Following the S.E.P. will assist you in registering for the appropriate courses that in turn will help you meet your educational goal.

Step 4: Follow-up
  • All students are encouraged to meet with a Counselor every semester to ensure that their S.E.P. accurately reflects their educational goal.
  • All students are also encouraged to follow-up on referrals made by teaching & counseling faculty for additional academic support. Receiving referrals from the counseling and teaching faculty to provide for more academic support.
