Family and Consumer Studies
Associate in Arts Degree Students are provided lower division transfer classes for a bachelor\'s degree in Family and Consumer Studies or Home economics, and provide opportunities for developing skills and competencies for multiple roles of home, family and career. Family and Consumer Studies or Home Economics is a diversified major leading to an Associate in Arts Degree and/or transfer credit to a four-year college or university. The major provides seven interest areas; nutrition, foods, principles of clothing construction and fashion, textiles, consumer studies, marriage and family, child development and gerontology. The major is designed for careers and training in new skill, enhancing one\'s home and surroundings and is for men and women wishing to bring creativity and enrichment into their everyday lives as well as for those men and women preparing for a career in the Family and Consumer Studies field. |
