Violations:
Failure to properly display a valid parking permit will result in the issuance of a citation. If you feel you have received a citation in error, you may submit a Citation Review Form (available at the College Sheriff's Station), 21 days of the date of issue. Completion of this form does not guarantee a dismissal. In the interest of justice and fairness, this process applies to all students, faculty/staff, and visitors.

ADDITIONAL FINES MAY BE ASSESSED IF THE CITATION IS NOT PAID OR CONTESTED WITHIN 21 DAYS OF ISSUANCE

Towing of Vehicles:
Vehicles with five or more delinquent parking citations are subject to impound or towing at the owner's expense under C.V.C. Section 22651 (i).

DMV Registration Hold:
Failure to pay fines after the 21 days may result in additional penalty fees and can also result in your vehicle registration being withheld by the DMV until all fines and penalties are paid.

Citation Payments:
Payments can be made by check, money order, or credit card. Credit card payments are accepted online by going to www.paymycite.com or by calling (888) 238-3640. There is a minimal processing fee for this service. Check or money order payments may be mailed to ELAC Sheriff's Station, 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park, CA 91754 or you may drop your payment in the Citation Payment Box located at the Sheriff's Station (B5-104). Please make check or money order payable to East L.A. College.

Parking Citation Appeal Process:

1. Citation Payments: Citation Review Forms must be completed within 21 days from the date the citation was issued. A response to an appeal is mailed out within 7-10 working days of the request.
2. Administrative Hearing: If you do not agree with the results of the initial appeal, you may request an Administrative Hearing from the Sheriff's Station within 21 days of the Date Reviewed found on the initial appeal. To request a hearing, you must post the bail amount of the original citation by check or money order. (Requests must be made in person).
3. Municipal Court: If you are still not satisfied with the results of the Administrative Hearing, you may file a appeal in Small Claims Court. A filing fee is required and is refundable along with the fine amount deposited if the court finds your citation invalid. For more information on filing, contact Small Claims Court at 150 W.
