Faculty can e-mail their class(es) through the automatically generated e-mail class distribution list. To send an e-mail to a class distribution list, please use the following format: S#_YYYY_9999@go.elac.edu. Legend: #= Semester (0-Winter, 1-Spring, 2-Summer, 3-Fall; YYYY = 4-digit year; 9999 = Class Section number.For a History 1 class in the Fall 2007 with section 0182, the e-mail distribution list would be S3_2007_0182@go.elac.edu

When you send an e-mail to the class distribution list the following happens and/or is possible:

1. All students and instructor receive the e-mail.
2. If the student selects Reply -- instructor receives response. If the student selects Reply All - instructor and all students receive the response.
3. Student is technically allowed to e-mail single e-mail recipients (students and instructors) whether the recipient is in his/her class.
4. Students or instructors are NOT technically allowed to address e-mail distribution lists such as classes they are not enrolled in or any other e-mail distribution list.
