2012 Annual Security Report

The college’s 2012 Annual Security Report is now available at: http://www.elac.edu/collegeservices/sheriff/index.htm

As required by the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act ("Clery Act"), the college’s Annual Security Report contains policy statements and crime statistics for the campus.  The Annual Security Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning certain reported crimes that occurred on campus, in off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the college, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the college.  The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as policies on drug and alcohol use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and emergency response and evacuation procedures.

  • IMPORTANT ALERT - On Monday, November 19, 2012, a theft was reported to the ELAC Sheriff Station. The crime occurred around 8 pm. A male suspect stole a cell phone and wallet from a female victim's left hand who was distracted while assisting another student who had fallen on the west stairwell of E7 Technology Building. The suspect is a black male, approximately 20-25 year old, 6 feet tall, approximately 180 lbs. for more information click here.

ELAC Sheriff

The entire Los Angeles Community College District contracts the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for law enforcement services. Thenine campuses are organized under the Sheriff's Community College Bureau.


Each campus of the nine college district has its own sheriff's station. The East Los Angeles College station is staffed with L.A. County Sheriff Deputies and L.A. County Sheriff Department Security Officers. Additional assistance is provided by LACCD Cadets. This staffing provides 24 hour security coverage for all persons visiting and using the East Los Angeles College campus.
