Diane Stankevitz

MS, ATC, CSCS, EMT

Athletic Trainer

323.265.8611

Diane has served as the Athletic Trainer for East Los Angeles College since the year 2000. She graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1996 with a B.S. in Physiological Science with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. She continued her education by graduating from the California State University at Long Beach in 1998 with a M.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science. She graduated in the University's top 1% from CSULB with Dean's List Honors, University Honors, and National Graduate Honors. Diane is a Certified Athletic Trainer from the NATABOC, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Diane is also a Certified Emergency Medical Technician. Prior to her employment at ELAC, she worked at Whittier College, Mount San Antonio College, and Los Altos High School.

Diane works with all 14 sports at ELAC, which doesn't leave her much spare time. But after working as an athletic trainer for many years she decided she had developed enough material to become a stand-up comedian. Diane, who goes by the stage name, Di Stanky, is a Southern California Comedian working at legendary comedy clubs such as the Ice House, the Improv, the Laugh Factory, and the Comedy Store. She is a two-time Semi-Finalist in California’s Funniest Female Contest and a Finalist at Uncle Clyde’s Comedy Contest. She attempted to audition for NBC’s Last Comic Standing, but as her luck would have it, after waiting in line for 10 hours they ended the line directly in front of her and stated “No more auditions today. If you would like to still audition, we will be in Houston Texas next Saturday!”

Diane’s ultimate goal is to become a spinster and live with a bunch of cats. Since she is 45 and not married, the only thing left to do is go to the pet store! She doesn’t feel there is anything wrong with growing old with a cat, although that rough tongue can sometimes be a problem.
