Trisha began
her coaching career her sophomore year of college as a head coach at the
Orange County Volleyball Club for a 14’s team. Trisha coached at OCBVC for
three seasons until she graduated. Over that summers, Trisha traveled as a coach
for a volleyball camp company and trained high school teams in the greater
northwest. Currently, she is coaching for
Sports Shack Volleyball Club, where she has been both a head coach and
assistant for teams ranging from 13's to 18's. Trisha has also coached these
teams at the annual volleyball festival in Arizona. In 2010, she was the head
coach for the 18's team at
Supernova All-Stars which she took to the AAU tournament in Florida. In the
summer of 2008 and 2009, she helped coach at the
Santa Monica Beach Club summer development clinic for the incoming 8th grade
team. Trisha has also coached the
Pepperdine Nina Matthies camp for 2 years and the
UCI summer camp.
As a player, Trisha was a standout high school, club, and college athlete. In
high school she earned several league, county and MVP honors. Trisha was then
recruited to play Division I volleyball at the University
of California Irvine for 4 years on a full ride scholarship. At UCI, she
played outside hitter and middle blocker. Highlights from her years in the
Big West Conference included scoring the final point in a dramatic 5 game
victory against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, ranked 7th in the nation at the time.
During the same road trip, UCI beat Santa Barbara at the Thunderdome (Santa
Barbara's gym) for the first time in the school's history. Two of the years, her
team was selected to play in the
NCAA tournament. Her senior year she was named on the Stanford Invitational
all-tournament team.
