TRISHA MARX's Biography

 

Trisha began her coaching career her sophomore year of college as a head coach at the Orange County Volleyball Club for a 14’s team. Trisha coached at OCBVC for three seasons until she graduated. Over that summers, Trisha traveled as a coach for a volleyball camp company and trained high school teams in the greater northwest. Currently, she is coaching for Sports Shack Volleyball Club, where she has been both a head coach and assistant for teams ranging from 13's to 18's. Trisha has also coached these teams at the annual volleyball festival in Arizona. In 2010, she was the head coach for the 18's team at Supernova All-Stars which she took to the AAU tournament in Florida. In the summer of 2008 and 2009, she helped coach at the Santa Monica Beach Club summer development clinic for the incoming 8th grade team. Trisha has also coached the Pepperdine Nina Matthies camp for 2 years and the UCI summer camp.

As a player, Trisha was a standout high school, club, and college athlete. In high school she earned several league, county and MVP honors. Trisha was then recruited to play Division I volleyball at the University of California Irvine for 4 years on a full ride scholarship. At UCI, she played outside hitter and middle blocker. Highlights from her years in the Big West Conference included scoring the final point in a dramatic 5 game victory against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, ranked 7th in the nation at the time. During the same road trip, UCI beat Santa Barbara at the Thunderdome (Santa Barbara's gym) for the first time in the school's history. Two of the years, her team was selected to play in the NCAA tournament. Her senior year she was named on the Stanford Invitational all-tournament team.

Trisha graduated in June of 2007 with a degree in Sociology and a double minor in Education and Digital Arts from UC Irvine and is pursuing her Masters in Physical Education at Azusa Pacific
