TRISHA MARX's Biography

 

Trisha Marx begins her second year as the Women's Head Volleyball Coach at ELAC and has the unenviable task of building the program into a top-tier one. Trisha began her coaching career her sophomore year as the Head coach for the Orange County Volleyball Club fourteen year olds. She coached with them for three year's then became a traveling coach for the All American Volleyball Camps and trained high school teams in the greater northwest. Last season, she began coaching for Sports Shack Volleyball Club, where she assisted the 18-2’s and 13-2’s teams.

 

In her coaching career at club, Trisha has taken two 13's team to the Volleyball Festival in Reno, Nev. She finished up summer 2008 coaching at the Pepperdine Volleyball Camp and Santa Monica Beach Club summer development clinic for the incoming eighth grade team.

 

Trisha was a standout high school and club player, earning several league, county and MVP honors. Her efforts were recognized as she played volleyball at the University of California, Irvine for four years. She started playing the position of middle blocker her freshmen year and was moved to an outside hitter for her sophomore and junior years.

 

She moved back to the middle for her senior season, where she helped lead her team to beat seventh-ranked Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and host U.C. Santa Barbara for the first time in the school’s history.

 

While she was at U.C. Irvine, the Anteaters participated in the NCAA tournament twice. Her senior year she was named on the Stanford Invitational all-tournament team.

Trisha graduated in June 2007 from U.C. Irvine with a degree in sociology and a double minor in education and digital arts.
