The Engineering and Technology Department at East Los Angeles College offers lower-division engineering, pre-engineering, and technology courses that allows students to complete their transfer requirements, obtain a certificate and/or associates degree. Many ELAC students graduated to become engineers and technologist. They began studying at the community college, and then transferred to a four year institution to complete their B.S. degree in engineering. Other ELAC students were focused on obtaining career training for the workforce and obtained a certificate or AS degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or Computer Aided Drafting/Design (CADD).
