Circulation Policy
Borrowing
Requirements:
Library materials to be checked out are available to enrolled students only.
Library textbooks are available for Library use only. Books, texbooks, periodicals,
and DVDs can be borrowed by showing an East Los Angeles College Student Identification
(ID) card with current semester sticker only.
Note: Materials may be checked out until 15 minutes prior to closing time.
Maximum Check-Out
Books: 10
Magazines, pamphlets: 5
Reserves: 2 – 2/hr. reserve, 2– 1-day/reserve, 2 – 3-day/reserve
DVDs: 3
Loan Periods:
Books: 14 days
Regular textbooks: 2 hours, room use only
Reference books: Room use only
Magazines, pamphlets: 7 days
Newspapers: Room use only
DVDs: 7 days
Lost & Damaged Items: replacement cost plus non-refundable processing fee.
Overdue Fines:
Regular textbooks: $1 / hour
Books, magazines and pamphlets: 10 cents / day
DVDs: $1 / day
Violation of "Room Use Only" policy: may result in fines and possible
suspension of library privileges.
Other Services
Photocopy machines: 10 cents/page
Printing from the computers: 5 cents (Black and white), 25 cents (Color)
