The South Gate Educational Center Library is your campus information center. It connects students, faculty and staff to information resources in all formats. The Library collection includes over 2,400 reference volumes. The Library subscribes to over 30 print periodicals and provides access to hundreds of periodicals in electronic format through various databases.

Intra-Library Loan Request
The Intralibrary loan service allows currently enrolled students, faculty and staff to borrow books from libraries within our Los Angeles Community College District at no charge. Download our in-house form here as a PDF document.
Library Online Catalog
The online book catalog permits you to see what materials are owned by the library and whether they are currently in the library or checked out. The catalog is available on the Library website. Click here to Find Books
Remote Access to Library Databases
The library website is your gateway to information access. Many library resources are available online. The library has an extensive collection of subscription databases that are available to ELAC faculty and staff not just in the library, but also anywhere on campus or from off-campus. Faculty and staff can login to the library website and access the full-text of over 2000 journals, as well as five major national newspapers, an online encyclopedia, literature resources just to name a few. Please come by the library for the latest usernames & passwords. Once you have the usernames & passwords, the library databases can be accessed from here: Electronic Databases.
Faculty/Staff Borrowing
ELAC faculty and staff are permitted to borrow materials from the general collection for one semester or session. Special loans for other materials can be arranged, please ask the librarians for assistance.
