County of Los Angeles Public Library

County of Los Angeles Public Library makes available a broad and relevant collection for information, education and recreation, in formats that include over 7,700,000 books, magazines, videos, cassettes and compact discs. They have close to a hundred regional and community libraries, a main library and four bookmobiles.

Leland R. Weaver Library is located in the Tweedy Mile Shopping District. The Weaver Library is the larger of the two libraries in the city of South Gate, the second being the Hollydale Library.

The Weaver Library offers a variety of library services to the residents of South Gate including general reference assistance, public access Internet workstations and an automated library catalog with access to the entire County Library collection. The collection is comprised of 118,200 books; 5,800 audio cassettes; 4,132 video cassettes and 250 magazines and newspapers. The library offers materials in English and Spanish.

Hollydale Library provides library services to the Hollydale area of the City of South Gate. This 4,800 square foot building is located in the Hollydale shopping area. The current collection totals 50,900 volumes, 25 magazine and newspaper subscriptions, 3,550 audio recordings, and 3,023 video and DVD recordings. The library provides materials in English and Spanish. Services include reference service, Internet workstations, access to the online catalog and databases and photocopier.
