like journals and magazines, are called "periodicals" because they

You can search for newspaper articles through print indexes or online databases. You can find newspaper articles in electronic format, print, or microform. Several newspapers are made available to you by subscriptions
purchased by the ELAC Library. Many newspapers have their own web sites
with today's news, and sometimes they provide earlier, popular articles
free.
