Mathematics is one of the primary tools used to describe the world and make sense out of its various parts. Most of the incredible achievements of our society in the 20th century were facilitated by our understanding of mathematics and its ability to be applied to many different situations from computers and rockets to skyscrapers and credit cards. Mathematics is also a necessary tool for scientific research, actuarial science , medical testing such as MRI and CAT scans, business planning, construction, finances, aviation, electronics, engineering and many other areas of practical importance too numerous to mention. At ELAC you will have the opportunity to acquire a solid base in mathematics to fit your needs and enable you to successfully pursue the career of your dreams.
Fall 2012 Mathematics Supplemental Instruction (SI) Coach Position -As part of the position you will conduct group sessions with students, office hours, and attend a class section where you will take notes and assist an instructor. Must have taken, or currently be taking at least one of the following and received/be receiving an "A" Math 241, 260, 261, 262, 263, 270, or 275 -Must be available at least 10-12 hours per week -Must have excellent written and communication skills -Link to the application PDF on the math page -Applications are due by Friday, May 25 by 4:00 PM
