    As the future field of Child Development grows, it is the hope of the Advocates and Educators for Young Children Club to support the development of leadership skills, policy direction understanding and providing service for our young children and their families. Through interaction and communication with professionals in the Child Development field students will set up a valuable network system to support their continued growth in best practices for young children birth through eight years of age. Our goal is that we will leave here as leaders in the early care & education field by providing opportunities for members to gain new, strong professional skills that can be carried on throughout their professional careers.

In addition, our purpose is to give East Los Angeles College a more active social environment with Food Sales, Competitions, Raffles, and activities.?     Mission Statement

    The East Los Angeles College Broadcasting Club is a student organization whose mission shall be to encourage, promote, and build a greater awareness in the field of broadcasting. Membership is open to all students who have an interest in broadcasting. Our aim is to provide information about the different fields and areas of broadcasting, broadcasting related employment, undergraduate, and graduate schools. We strengthen the presence of Broadcasting on our campus by sponsoring guest lectures, field trips, and broadcasting related activities. We also gain hands-on experience through getting involved with on-campus events and volunteering in the community. Nevertheless, we offer a friendly, fun, and enjoyable environment with the opportunity to meet new friends, other broadcasting majors, staff, and faculty on our campus.

    Chicanos Latinos for Community Medicine (CCM) at East Los Angeles College is a pre-health professional student organization open to all interested in learning more about the health care field, participating in community service events, and making new friends. We are a student organization dedicated to supporting one another in our academic endeavors and thereby increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine. We also commit ourselves to serving our community in an effort to "promote diversity in health through community service and education."

    Mission Statement

    The Goal of Chatting Hands Clubis to expose others to the hearing imparied, hard of hearing, the deaf, Deaf Culture and American Sign Language. The purpose of such is mainly to, but not limited to, show others the world of signing, as well as others who have a hard time communicating through speech. Communication is not limited to sound alone, body language and facial expression can only say so much. This is why the Deaf need to sign, and have facial expressions as well as body language. Spreading awarness about Deaf culture and thier society, the Chatting Hands Club hopes to achieve better understanding and communication beteen the hearing and the Deaf. Chatting Hands club hopes to encourage others to take up ASL class, and build bridges between the two cultures

    To help students realize and participate in the eternal purpose of God as revealed in the Bible (Eph. 3:9-11).To explore the deeper meaning of the Bible, especially how it applies to us in our daily living (1Tim. 2:3-4).To introduce the Lord Jesus Christ, as a real and living person who can be experienced and enjoyed, to students, faculty, staff, and families of the ELA community (Matt. 28:19-20).To serve the ELA community by providing practical and spiritual support which cannot be experienced in a typical academic setting. We emphasize longitudinal experience of the Christina life, spanning not just the student years but professional, family, and even retirement years. This is carried out by the following ways: Providing free Christian literature, Large Bible studies on campus or off campus, Personal small group Bible studies on campus or off campus, Home meeting with alumni and supporting community members where the students can experience the care in the Body of Christ and observe people of all ages who are living out the Christian faith.

    The purpose of Circle K International organization is to blend community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world. Developing college and university students into a global network of responsible citizens and leaders with a lifelong commitment to service. Our motto is "Live to serve, love to serve." The potential of CKI lies in its ability to positively influence members of society who are facing ultimate personal decisions and those who will one day create the vision of mankind for generations to come. Leadership opportunities afford CKI members the resources and tools needed to become active citizens. Members can assume leadership responsibilities at all levels of the organization and through various experiential training conferences. Projects such as the Six Cents Initiative, CKI's International fundraiser that aims to provide water to the 2.2 billion children worldwide who lack safe drinking water, bring CKI members together to make a difference in the world.

    Di Composers is an organization that unites students who share a common interest in songwriting, musical composition, production, and live performance. The purpose of the organization is to maintain an active fellowship that procures talent and creates opportunities to network and socialize in an academically nurturing environment. Through workshops, professional lectures, and a uniquely qualified team, Di Composers is able to provide its members with important information relevant to their professional goals in the music industry. Freedom to express one’s self through music is a vital part of the organization. Di Composers encourages this ideal by producing live concerts featuring performances by our singer/songwriters and original bands. Members further benefit from thoughtfully planned excursions and an assortment of perks that are designed to enrich their experience. Di Composers understands the challenges that songwriters and musicians face, and the sacrifices they make. Through a network of strong alliances and an abundance of resources, Di Composers will support its members through their journey to success where after, as professionals, they are encouraged to reciprocate their support through continued fellowship.     The purpose and mission of the Auto Technology Club is to promote the social, economic and environmental welfare of its members through actively expanding Auto Tech’s members’ imagination, education, creativity and advisory information obtained from available sources within ELAC as well as sources found in the community in the auto industry and local individuals that are willing to support this Auto Technology Club. Combining knowledge through inviting members of the Engineering Department to join the Auto Tech Club will widen its mission of becoming a responsible Club within ELAC and bring another new fresh approach to its existing goal of being intelligent students with more knowledge to tackle the challenges of college life and community responsibility. Some of Auto Technology Club’s endeavors would include striving for cleaner air in the environment through studying alternative fuel uses for automobiles, taking field trips for additional experience, planning fund raisers to obtain money for automotive projects, field trips and for developing new technologies. Through innovative projects and hard work, the Auto Technology Club has an exciting future on the ELAC campus working closely within the guidelines and laws of ELAC ASU and with its responsible associates from ELAC as well as influenced by knowledgeable interested individuals within the community.

Because we need to acknowledge our different approaches to life and accepting all of them as valid. Because we need a safer space to be created for everyone where we can open our eyes and reach out to each other without being threatened by this sexist society. Because we as human beings should talk to each other and break the code of silence! Because everytime we pick up a pen, or an instrument, or get ANYTHING done, we are creating the revolution. WE ARE the revolution!

    The mission of this club is to share and promote photography in and around the Monterey Park East Los Angeles College area.*As a club, will help ELAC student’s interested in photography express more of an artistic voice. *Elac Photo Club was started to enhance the confidence, continuity and potential students have when shooting assignments for the school and his/hers portfolio. * Our mission is to bring art music and culture to both the school and community with just the snap of a photo. *This is club is very diverse and extremely talented across the board. Our mission is to show the school just that. *Pushing for perfection and having our modern artwork displayed will help build a stronger relationship with Vincent Price Art Museum. *Allowing opportunities to exhibit, discuss and critique is more of the core of what we as a photo club implement. *Promoting, networking and building stronger and more unified relationships with other clubs in campus are what we strive for. *Provide or sponsor lectures, demonstrations, and exhibitions for the benefit of the community.

    Mission Statement

    The ESL Club is to allow ESL students a safe environment to express themselves and interact with others while feeling comfortable and at home on campus. This club will also provide students with opportunities to meet new people from other clubs and exchange ideas and learn from each other. We believe that this club will provide the students exposure to many resources on campus as well as off campus via scheduled field trips or other outside activities. In addition, all members will practice speaking English, as they will communicate with students from various parts of the world. As a result, they will enrich their college experience and have a worldly view. Furthermore, the club will represent all ESL and former ESL students and help them learn more about American pop culture and about many other cultures and make friends, who will eventually become as a second family, which will give students a sense of belonging. By being exposed to others’ ideas, cultures, traditions, values and morals, students will gain a wealth of knowledge that they might otherwise be missing out on. A last thing that this club will provide is to raise money for possible scholarships to help ESL students continue their educational goals at ELAC and beyond.

    The Primary mission statment of the Engineering Mother club at East Los Angeles College is to act as a liason between engineering students and the Department of Engineering. We seek to encourage an active engagement in the engineering feild above and beyond the experience of the classroom. We inform students not only about the resources available within, but also about the many opportunities available outside of the college setting that are essentialfor success. Aside from our academic goals, we seek to create a comfortable social atmosphere for our members to surround themselves with others in thier major. In addition to the atmosphere for EMC members, it allows students to establish networking and to interact with students like wise influencing each other to create study groups or tutoring sessions. another goal is to inspire and aspiring engineers to continue towards thier education and motivate them to stick to thier dreams of earning thier degree. Lastly, we hope to eventually reach out as a community in an effort to share and kindle an appreciation for the beauty and profoundlity of an engineering career.

In accordance to the ASU, we are a game club that brings to life to a campus that sorely needs it. We believe that the phase "All work, and no play", will make us only zombies to our daily routines, which has no meaning in life. Thus, we make an ongoing difference at "our" community college. By showing our club's traits, we follow the wisdom of our founders and abide by the following laws:

    1.Leadership : So that we may inspire others to lead by our continung example.

    2.Communication: To talk to everybody with the respect and paitience.

    3.People Person: By being cool, friendly, and helpful to our fellow students whoever, he-she-they may be.

    The main purpose of International Student Club (ISC) is to help students from different country to feel not so lonely when they come to America. Our main missions are united international students around the college together and help them to adjust to American culture. We want to create a second home for students, in which they will not feel lonely and always have someone to turn to when they have problems or just feel like to talk to someone. We also provide chance for new students make friends that come from the same country or even same hometowns other through our events such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, Icebreaking party and many more. It is also a chance for students to practices their English since most of the student come from countries which the primary language is not English.

    MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantíl Chicano/a de Aztlán/Chicano Student Movement of Aztlán) is a nationwide organization that was started in 1969 to address the many issues facing the Chicano community at the time. Since then, MEChA has changed to fit the evolving, but ever-present needs of our community. One of the main issues MEChA has always addressed is improving the state of education and expanding educational opportunities for our youth.

    The purpose of the organization is to positively impact the mental health and wellness of the ELAC campus community. NAMI on Campus is a studentrun, student-based organization that provides mental health awareness, education, and advocacy. This club seeks to: Educate and increase awareness of mental health issues to students, faculty, and administration at ELAC. Provide knowledge and skills for living successfully with mental health issues. Encourage and promote early detection and intervention of mental health issues and provide campus and community referral resources to ELAC students who are experiencing mental health problems. Create understanding and empathy as a means of combating the stigma that surrounds mental health issues by breaking the silence that creates barriers to seeking help. Advocate for enhanced support and counseling services at ELAC, and for equitable services and treatments for ELAC students who experience mental health issues.

    The East Los Angeles College Pep Squad Club is committed to demonstrate and provide firm spirit and pride amongst the students, faculty, staff, and throughout the community. The members are dedicated in providing grounds for college spirit as they demonstrate great responsibility, commitment, enthusiasm, and determination to succeed as an individual student while demonstrating their pride for ELAC all year long. Amongst the members of the club are members of the ELAC Cheerleading Team. They volunteer their time by providing a variety of performances throughout the year at various events, activities, and at ELAC athletic games on campus and off campus. The Pep Squad Club enhances the college spirit throughout the community and enhances athletic performances and expands the opportunity to support the college.

    Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold: 1) recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and (2) provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.

    We are a diverse body of ELAC's students and faculty who meet regardless of our majors/career goals, though our focus is centered on the sciences. We call ourselves the POBC (Priory of Biology and Chemistry Club) and offer a venue to interact with faculty and scientists, and to become a leader in different science education initiatives. We hold social gatherings and biweekly meetings usually composed of scientific demonstrations and the participation of informal invited speakers. As an ACS affiliated chapter we do outreach activities in our very diverse community via chemistry demonstrations and hands-on activities with local elementary schools. Also we give support to our college and chemistry department by being active in their activities. We maintain our club activities by various fundraising. Come visit us and learn more about our community and club!

    The purpose of the organization is to help EVERYONE [regardless of their declared major] to become more aware of the psychological spectrum in the modern world. The organization can and shall be use to discuss various psychological disorders as introduce to the student body in their psychology classes/courses. The core purpose of the Organization will be to create more awareness in the field of psychology, and any psychology related employments all students can benefit. The organization shall try to organize one trip to a member-selected University for further exploration of their majors. This organization is a student-run club, which maintains a faculty advisor to help them organize and prepare for any special events the clubs members decided to host and/or regulate, with regard to the School’s policies. The organization shall organized guess speakers for the club to provide more information on the field. The organization shall also be use as a form of social network that encourages members to interact with each other in a first name basis. And it should also encourage members to participate in a more democratic-like society within the club. Any of the fundraisers the organization organizes must be approved by all the members to whom it is aimed to serve. Thus we offer hands-on experience for all the participants.

    The club, You, Me and the Trees, functions as a social support system for students to come together, share ideas and participate in achieving or maintaining healthy living habits. Our goal is to help one another reach optimal physical and mental health, while also taking care of our environment and each other. To cope with our busy modern lives, we will share simple, easy recipes encouraging each other to cook and eat healthy; plan activities such as hiking, bicycling, camping, walkathons, etc., to de-stress, get some exercise, and enjoy each other’s company in the great outdoors. The club will also participate in events that will enable us to give back to our community and promote general goodwill. While engaging in these activities, we will strive to reduce our environmental impact in order to have a sustainable future. Recycling, reducing waste and re-using items are only some examples of how we intend to reach our objective. The club is open to any and all who wish to participate.

    The veterans of East Los Angeles College encourages the emerging process for veterans into academia. Or primary intent is to maintain a comradeship where veterans can support and relate to one another through thier prior military experience. Our secondary intent is to familiarize veterans with the infrastructure of community college so that all resources that are available are properly utilized to facilitate the accomplishment of veterean's academmic and professional goals. Finally, Veterans of East Los Angeles College highly promotes veterans to take leadership positions and or maintain general membership with the Associate Student Union, school organizations, and community organizations both in and around East Los Angeles College. It is with these notions that we set fourth to bring out the very best from our veterans prior military training and directly apply these experiences to thier scholarly academic life.

    Our mission is to bring education and awarness to people about the benefits and importance of living a sustainable life style. We are focused on bringing awarness about daily issues with Carbon emissions and transportation, chemical use and consumption, water usage, waste renewable sources of energy, shopping in sustainable ways, and influencing regulations in ways that can help us start moving toward our goal of a healthier enviorment. We will reach out to people, communities, schools, and businesses through: workshops, seminars, influencing school legislation, and inviting people to participate in volunteer opprutunities that could potentially harbor more interest in the enviormet and a sustainable life style. This will give them tools and knowledge necessary to spread that interest with others. We are also focused on integrating sustainable living ideals into various types of majors, such as science, architecture, business, and all other forms of organization that can benefit from sustainable practices. It will also be out mission to collaborate with other groups, clubs, and organizations who share our goals in order to reach a larger spectrum of people with our ideals.
