Dear LACCD Colleagues:
This is an important announcement regarding LACCD’s upgrade to your “MyCollege.laccd.edu” faculty and/or employee portal, also known as homepage in the forthcoming 9.2 version to be available beginning October 14, 2019.
The upgrade involves an improved navigation system accessible by tiles once you log into the system. Scroll down here to view sample screenshots of the various employee homepages that you will see.
The upgraded system will be accessible from computers, smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices using your preferred Internet browser. PeopleSoft 9.2 will allow the system to be responsive based on the mobile device being used and will be responsive in landscape or portrait modes.
PeopleSoft 9.2 is a significant step forward in the District’s continued efforts to provide state-of-the-art technology to faculty, students and staff. The upgrade represents more than a year’s work by IT staffand vendor.
The PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrade consists of improved navigation and the ability to create additional homepage tiles. The number and type of tiles available on your homepage is dependent on your current security roles in the system. The transactional pages to access the academic rosters and to input data into the student record, financial and academic advising pages will remain the same.
Our students will also see significant improvements with the PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrade, including:
- A full mobile enhanced experience that no longer needs the LACCD app which will be deactivated effective October 1, 2019
- A new, more intuitive navigation system in keeping with student expectations
- A seamless self-service process for touchscreens and other modern user interfaces
In order to complete the update, the Student Information System will be unavailable for about three days, from 10 p.m., Thursday October 10 until 11 p.m., Sunday, October 13. All integrated services, including Canvas, Microsoft 365 email and online tutoring, will be available through re-directs until the student portal comes back online. The planned downtime has been selected during a period in which there are no deadlines for drops; is prior to the start of the second eight-week session; will enable winter and spring enrollment to be done on the new platform, and will allow incoming Fall 2020 students to have a consistent experience in the 9.2 environment. Notification of the downtime is currently posted on the MyCollege.laccd.edu sign-in page.

You will also be able to access the videos under the new “Key Link & Help” navigation tile on or after October 14. We encourage you to view the videos before logging on to the new MyCollege.laccd.edu 9.2 faculty or employee homepage the first time.
A centralized telephone support will be available during this transition period. Employees and staff can call the toll free number at (844) MYLACCD or (844) 695-2223, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Announcement of the new Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset software
Starting September 16, 2019, the Los Angeles Community College District will begin using a new Microsoft self-service password reset software for the MyCollege.edu student portal.
All actively enrolled students are being asked to register for the Microsoft self-service password reset service by recording an alternate email address (i.e. yahoo, google, Gmail) and/or a mobile (cell) number into the system.
Students do not need to change their existing MyCollege.laccd.edu student portal password. Their current password is valid and will be stored in the system until the student decides to change it.
To activate the Microsoft self-service password reset service, students need to follow the below steps:
- Go to MyCollege.laccd.edu and log in with their current information
- Click on the “email” link
- Follow the prompts and enter their alternate information. Students can enter both pieces of information or select one.
- Their info will be submitted once they click “Finished.”
It takes less than 3 minutes to sign-up!
The attached instruction sheet on how to register their alternate email address and/or mobile number can be found under the “First Time User, Need Help” link on the right side of the main page of the SIS student portal. The instruction sheet also contains step-by-step instructions on how to create a new password using the new Microsoft self-service password reset page.
