The play is written for kindergarten to sixth graders and performed by East Los Angeles College theatre students in area elementary schools. The Zombie Code explores acceptance, diversity, and a strategy for ‘bully management’ in a fun, entertaining, theatrical production. The play lasts approximately 40 minutes, followed by a short question and answer period with the actors.
In addition to weekly performances, ELAC Storytheatre also participates weekly in the Robert Hill Lane Elementary after-school program located across the street from the ELAC campus. Students conduct workshops in creative drama and storytelling, gaining valuable workforce experience as teaching artists.
ELAC Storytheatre is a free program and part of ELAC’s Theatre in the Community Program. ELAC Storytheatre has performed for elementary schools, senior centers and special events throughout Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley for the past fifteen years.
