IMPORTANT: All Students and Employees -- Covid-19 Protocol Changed on Sept. 13
Posted: Sep/14/2021 12:32 PMOur COVID-19 protocol has begun a significant change due to LACCD policy and all students and employees need to take action to be in compliance. Here’s what you need to know. Beginning Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 our new vendor, Biocept, takes over the COVID-19 Testing and Screening operations at East Los Angeles College (replacing the LAPCSafeApp and self-check-in).
Only campus visitors will still use the link to the old district self-check link at http://laccd.edu/About/News/Pages/Self-Check-Survey-Landing.aspx
First, Biocept, under the name Cleared4, will text and/or email each student and employee with a unique link, and at that time you need to create a new profile in their database.
Next, every student and employee needs to be tested for COVID-19 once to create a baseline. Beginning Sept. 20, Biocept will be on campus in the Math Lab, Building G5 room LL009 two days a week, Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to conduct this testing. In the text and/or email Biocept/Cleared4work sends, after you complete your profile, click on “Book On-site Covid Test,” choose East Los Angeles College - building G5 room LL009, and set up your baseline screening.
· No later than October 8, 2021, ALL students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility, and all employees must:
Ø Create a profile account with the District’s official testing vendor, Biocept
Ø Get a free COVID-19 test with the vendor
· Prior to October 18, 2021, ALL students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility, and all employees must:
Ø Upload your vaccination information (if you are vaccinated)
Ø Or submit a medical or religious exemption request approved by the District—you must allow at least two days for processing
Ø NOTE: ALL persons granted an exemption must be tested weekly by the District’s official testing vendor as a condition of employment
Finally, everyone will get a daily reminder from Cleared4 with a link to complete the quick self-health check required every day before coming on campus. Once cleared, a digital Green Pass is issued, and you can show it to gain entry to any indoor campus building or facility, including all of the LACCD campuses and the district office.
Emails have gone out to all students and employees from the district office that describe these procedures in more detail. They introduce the revised policy, Board Policy 2900, the LACCD Board of Trustees put in place Sept. 1, 2021, what we need to do, and the timeline we need to meet to comply.
Vaccination and Testing Requirements
As a condition to physically accessing any District building, classroom, library, gymnasium, facility, or other indoor setting, all District students shall present proof that they have been fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) unless exempt for medical or religious reasons.
Employees and students who are granted a medical or religious exemption shall undergo regular testing for COVID-19 infection and shall produce proof of negative COVID-19 test results.
Vaccinations are available at the ELAC Health Center (Building F5 room 302)
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Students and employees are now required to use these procedures as a condition of their status as students and/or employees.
Students who cannot meet the October 8 or October 18 deadlines to complete all required steps must contact the Office of Student Services at your home college as soon as possible.
Only visitors to our facilities will continue to use the original district online check-in.
