MONTEREY PARK, CA – East Los Angeles College (ELAC) business administration student Andrew Estrella was one of only a few community college students selected in the United States for the Citi® University Partnerships In Innovation & Discovery (CUPID).
This program is designed specifically for community college students and was launched in the fall and will run through the summer. Students will work with Citi mentors on real-world, real-time capstone projects that will be presented to senior leaders at Citi. Afterwards, Citi may identify students to receive remote internships this summer.
“I was interested in expanding and getting real experience inside the banking industry. I asked my professor (Frank Aguirre, ELAC Assistant Professor of Business) for help. I took a class a few semesters ago and he showed me the opportunity for applying to Citi. After that, I did my corresponding research and decided to apply,” said Estrella.
