MONTEREY PARK, CA – East Los Angeles College (ELAC) has served as a key location in administering the vaccination in partnership with Los Angeles County, and local health clinics. The vaccination events at ELAC have helped the local community around the campus, which have been some of the hardest hit by the virus.
Since the COVID vaccination started to be administered in Los Angeles County ELAC has hosted 5 vaccination events with two more scheduled soon. Between those 5 events, local health partners delivered 5,100 vaccinations to the East Los Angeles community with 2,600 more scheduled for the two future events.
“These vaccination events have been vital to not only us returning to campus but for our community to rebound from this pandemic. I want to applaud all our staff who have assisted with making these vaccination events possible. I specifically want to mention our events, grounds, and custodial staff who throughout this pandemic has made sure all these events run smoothly. Their effort and dedication are admirable,” said ELAC President Dr. Alberto J. Roman.
