Honoring Cultural Heritage Through Día de Los Muertos and the Art of Ofelia Esparza
Wednesday, October 29, 2025

Presented by Vincent Price Art Museum and Professional Development.
Join us for a Racial Equity and Social Justice Town Hall honoring cultural heritage, resilience, and community through the lens of Día de los Muertos, featuring the life and work of renowned Chicana artist, altar maker, and educator Ofelia Esparza. Esparza’s legacy continues to shape East Los Angeles and beyond, creating a space for dialogue, gratitude, and connection rooted in cultural knowledge and lived experience. Participants will engage with recreated altars, deepening their understanding of Día de los Muertos as a living tradition that extends beyond two days of celebration into a way of life centered on family, remembrance, and love. Together, we will honor the power of art to sustain cultural memory, heal, and strengthen the bonds that hold our communities together.
Enjoy coffee and pastries after the program!
