The Basic Needs Center provides centralized support services for students facing basic needs insecurities. We work closely with campus and community partners to connect you to services that support your well-being, both inside and outside the classroom. Our goal is to help you stay on track and succeed in college and beyond.

How to Apply for Direct Support from the Basic Needs Center:
Complete your Basic Needs Support form by visiting https://linktr.ee/basicneedscenter. Upon completion of the form, eligible students will receive an email with the next steps.
All services are available to currently enrolled students. Eligibility requirements may apply to Housing referrals.
Food Insecurity & Personal Hygiene
Monterey Park Campus
Our campus food pantry takes place every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
Location- G3 Foyer
Time: 12:00 pm-3:00 pm or until supplies last
Mobile Food Pantry
Our mobile food pantry takes place every first Thursday of the month
Location - E3 Quad
Time: 1:00 pm-3:00 pm

Faculty & Staff information
ELAC Foundation Emergency Grant
The East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Foundation partners with the Basic Needs Center to provide ELAC students with resources to ensure education and career goal attainment. To refer students for emergency assistance who need a Laptop, Hotspot, emergency funds, or other support, please review the information below. A signed emergency assistance application must be uploaded for each student needing resources.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Enrolled for the semester, requesting assistance (Non-credit ok)
2. ELAC as Home Campus
3. Referred by FACULTY/ADMINISTRATORS/STAFF
4. Applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis
