MONTEREY PARK, CA – The East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Men’s Basketball team will be the focus of the 2nd season of the Netflix documentary series “Last Chance U: Basketball.” The season will premiere on Netflix on December 13th and follows the Huskies during their 2021-2022 season.

This will be the second time the team has been on the show with the first season showing the ups and downs of the 2019-2020 season which ended with the Huskies unable to play in their playoff game due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. Multiple players from that season’s team have gone on to transfer to four-year universities including Joe Hampton to Cal State Long Beach, Deshaun Highler to Sacramento State, and Kealen Allen to Texas Tech.

This second season is filled with excitement and anticipation as the team looks to deliver the first championship in coach Mosley’s career. Make sure to view the trailer on YouTube for the upcoming season and watch the series on December 13th when premiered on Netflix.

“What an amazing opportunity for our student athletes! I applaud Coach Mosley and his team for guiding, supporting and mentoring these young men to achieve their full potential, both personally and academically. I can’t wait to see the new season and cheer on our team this upcoming basketball season,” said ELAC President Alberto J. Roman.

Coach Mosley finished his 10th season in 2021-22 leading the men’s basketball team and has a 214-55 career record. The Huskies have made the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) state playoffs in each of those 10 seasons and appeared in ELAC’s only championship game in the 2014-2015 season. He won the South Coast-North Men’s Coach of the year for the 6th time in 2021.

We’re privileged that East LA College men’s basketball was chosen,” says Coach Mosley. “I hope everyone understands and appreciate that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, not just a program like ours, but for any community college throughout the country.
