ELAC Recognized as the #1 Community College in the US for Hispanic Student Enrollment

MONTEREY PARK, CA - East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Ranked 1st in the nation with 31,099 total enrollment of Hispanic/Latinx students at a Community College for the 2021-2022 academic year according to the annual Top 100 issue of Hispanic Outlook on Education magazine.

ELAC was also 9th in the nation with 2,878 total associate degrees granted to Hispanic/Latinx students.  ELAC also finished as a top ten school in the nation for degrees granted in three separate majors. This is especially impressive because this ranking is against both two-year and four-year institutions.

    • Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences - #2
    • Homeland Security Law Enforcement Firefighting and Related Protective Services - #6
    • Social Sciences Degrees - #1
