EOPS Eligibility

By becoming a member of NextUP/CAFYES at East Los Angles College, former foster youth get the opportunity to take part in program events and activities, commit to academic success, and develop supportive relationships with faculty, staff, and other students.

In addition, members of NextUP/CAFYES are supported by caring and understanding staff members who empower and encourage them to never give up. Obtaining a college degree can be challenging but with a proper support system in place, the sky is the limit for our students.

Program Eligibility

• Be no older than 25 years of age at the beginning of the academic year
• Dependency was established or continued by the court on or after a student’s 16th birthday
• Dependency Verification Letter (also known as Ward of the Court Letter)
• Be a current or prospective East Los Angeles College (ELAC) student
