Honors Program

The East Los Angeles Honors Program, which is recognized by UCLA, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, Whitman College, Pitzer College, Pomona College, Mills College, Loyola Marymount University, and Occidental College. The Honors Program consists of a series of courses specifically designed to successfully prepare students for the transition from ELAC to a four-year university or college.

John Delloro Transfer Program in Social Justice

The Delloro Transfer Program in Social Justice is a cohort learning community that provides scholars with a strong foundation of skills to succeed both academically and as advocates for their communities. We prepare students to be transfer-ready through an encouraging network of support and a strong understanding of the transfer process. Our program is rooted in the belief that a diverse group of knowledgeable and empowered students will thrive academically and serve as leaders for social justice in their communities and campuses.

Latinx Completion and Transfer Academy (LCTA)

The Latinx Completion and Transfer Academy (LCTA) is here to help. Our goal is to help students who have 30 units or more obtain and complete a degree, certificate, and/ or transfer. We cultivate a holistic approach to self-efficacy through culturally relevant teaching and learning that empowers and supports Latina students and families.

Math Engineering & Science Achievement (MESA)

The MESA program at ELAC enables educationally disadvantaged students to prepare for and graduate from a four-year college or university with a math-based degree in areas such as engineering, the sciences, computer science, and mathematics. Through MESA, students develop academic and leadership skills, increase educational performance, and gain confidence in their ability to compete professionally.

Pathway to Law School

The Pathway to Law School program provides students with the academic foundation necessary for successful transfer and eventual entry to law school. For those students interested in a legal career, the Pathway will demystify law school and provide students with tutoring referrals, a designated counselor and a mentor who is an attorney.

Puente Club

The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally underserved students who enroll in four year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations. Puente is open to all interested students.

ELAC One Zone

ELAC One Zone provides resources to ELAC students. It includes the following offices: LGBTQ+, Dream Resource Center, Educational Justice Scholars, DSPS, Umoja at ELAC, and Safe Zone.

UC Berkeley TAP

The UC Berkeley TAP program provides students from East Los Angeles College with information and support services that will facilitate their transfer to University of California Berkeley.

UCLA Center for Community College Partnerships works to increase transfer rates and success of ELAC students by holistically equipping with skills and knowledge of available transfer pathways to empower them to become self-advocates and leaders in their communities.

The University of California, Irvine Residential Transfer Academy is a FREE summer program for ELAC students. The program is held at the UC Irvine campus and is meant to prepare low income, underrepresented students to transfer to the University of California. Students participate in leadership, team building, and research activities.

The ELAC to UCSB Summer Institute program will demystify the process for students by equipping them with the information, tools and resources necessary to be successful. In addition to increasing student awareness about the UC transfer process, this program will strive to empower students from underrepresented communities through academic, personal, and leadership workshops.
