Congratulations!

Congratulations to our Applied student, pianist Shan Jiang, who captured 1st Prize at the Honors Auditions Competition organized by the CAPMT ( California Association of Professional Music Teachers, District 9). The competition was open to all pianists ages 19-26. Shan will be competing in the CAPMT State Finals on April 6.

Congratulations to ELAC Applied voice major, Eugene Lopez, for winning the state-wide 2017 Music Theory Competition at the annual MACCC Conference (Music Association of California Community Colleges) held in San Francisco on November 17th! This is the second consecutive year that ELAC has been awarded first place in this competition.

Congratulations to our Applied composition student, Michael Cooper, for winning the 2016 MACCC Music Theory Scholarship Competition!! Michael competed against 61 students from 14 community colleges around the state. Finals were held on November 19th in San Diego.

Congratulations to our Applied Music Student, pianist Yunting Xie, who captured 1st Prize in the State Finals of the 2016 Honors Competition, held at UC Berkeley on April 30th!


Congratulations to our Applied Music student, pianist Yunting Xie, who was awarded 1st Prize at the 2016 Honors Competition (for District 9; 19-24 age category), sponsored by CAPMT (California Association of Professional Music Teachers)! Yunting will compete against other district winners at the 2016 State Finals, held at UC Berkeley, on April 30.

Congratulations to our Applied Music student, clarinettist Priscilla Ortiz, who was a finalist at the Student Theory Competition at the 2015 MACCC Conference, held in San Francisco on November 20, 2015. Out of 53 community college music students state-wide, Ms. Ortiz was one of five finalists to compete in the championship round.
