The East Los Angeles College Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of two (2) scholarships for the Fall 2023 semester. Now available are the CCCSE Part of Osher Initiative and Southern California EDISON STEM scholarship applications.

CCCSE Part of Osher Initiative Scholarship ($750) - Thanks to the generosity of The Bernard Osher Foundation, thousands of California Community College students, like you, may receive an Osher Scholarship as part of the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment. Mr. Osher’s vision is to “not only bene it the community college students of today but countless more for years to come.”

East Los Angeles College Foundation participated in the FCCC/Osher matching fund Initiative and currently has over 1.8 million dollars in an endowment fund that is designated for East Los Angeles College students. That was accomplished through the diligent fundraising efforts of the ELAC Foundation staff and Board of Directors.

Southern California EDISON STEM Scholarship ($1,000) - The Southern California Edison STEM Scholarship is made available to provide financial assistance to students pursuing STEM Majors.

Additional Scholarship Opportunites

The Foundation for California Community Colleges is please to announce the Educating for Change Scholarship. The Educating for Change Scholarship, made possible through a generous gift from Dr. Joseph Bick and Ms. Stephanie Koop, provides financial support to California Community College students who have a parent incarcerated in a prison administered by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). 

The scholarship amount per student will be up to $1,000 per academic term and will be disbursed in Spring 2024. Scholarships may be used to cover education related costs, including but not limited to tuition and fees, books and other instructional materials, computer equipment, internet access, educational tools, and uniforms. Funds will be awarded twice a year based on verification of student enrollment.

Application deadline: October 9, 2023. Applicants will be notified of award decisions by October 16, 2023. To receive payment for the Spring 2024 academic term, scholarship recipients must submit documentation of enrollment in at least 12 units or an alternate full-time equivalent status by February 5, 2024.

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW | LA) is pleased to announce the scholarship program for Non-Traditional Students. The Scholarship Program is available for a variety of subject matter disciplines, as well as support for non-traditional students in achieving their academic goals. Awards are based on a combination of academic merit and financial need.

The scholarship application cycle runs twice a year in the Spring and Fall. Funding is made available during the recipient's following school term and sent directly to the educational institutions. 10 scholarships are available ranging from $1000-$5000.

The Foundation for California Community Colleges is please to announce the AP Keenan Insurance Education Scholarship. The AP Keenan Insurance Scholarships seek to increase the diversity of professionals working within the insurance, risk management, and financial services industry by providing scholarships to underrepresented students at California Community Colleges.

For 2023, a total of $9,500 is available for disbursement. Students must apply to their local college Financial Aid or Scholarship Office. Colleges will verify student eligibility and then submit an invoice for payment to FoundationCCC.

AP Keenan Insurance Scholarship Guidelines

Application period: February 1-October 31, 2023. 

Students: Submit your application to your Community College Financial Aid & Scholarship Office. Do NOT submit an application directly to FoundationCCC. Scholarships will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to apply to your Community College Financial Aid & Scholarship Office as early as possible! 

The Foundation for California Community Colleges is please to announce the Real Estate Education Scholarships. Supporting community college real estate education. The Real Estate Education Scholarship Program is designed for eligible, economically disadvantaged students who are interested in pursuing a career in real estate. By providing financial assistance to cover the cost of attending a California community college, the program can help break down financial barriers that might otherwise prevent these students from pursuing their educational goals.

Funds are determined each year by the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges based on annual investment earnings of the scholarship endowment. Scholarship funds are disbursed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and we encourage colleges to submit invoices as soon as possible.

A total of $59,000 is available for the academic year 2023-24 with the following award amounts:

  • $600 per semester
  • $1200 per academic year
